For this week’s Featured Photo Friday, I decided to choose an image from Kimberly and Jesse’s wedding because of the email Kimberly sent me the other day (I photographed their wedding in September of last year). Kimberly received an email that one of her guy friends recently sent to her and she thought it was so great that she wanted to share it with me.
In the email, her friend retells a conversation that he and his buddy had while watching the slideshow I put together for Kimberly and Jesse. When I first started reading “the conversation”, I was cracking up and wondering where this could possibly be going with the “I know dude” and “Ya, bro”, but, through the humor, some of the best compliments I have ever received about my photography emerged. Here is what he wrote:
I both laughed and got all teary-eyed at this. I’m such a sucker for grown men who get sentimental about weddings! I loved their wedding so much and it was hard to choose just one photo to feature today. I decided on this image because I love how Jesse is so sweetly helping Kimberly with her dress and how they are also engaged with their awesome wedding party who were standing off to the side. This was such a fun photo session in a random field near the Huntley Lodge.
I was using the Nikon 70-200 at 100mm. Settings were ISO 200, f/2.8, shutter speed 1/1600
I couldn’t help but add a few photos of Kimberly. She looked so radiant and I remember thinking that she was absolutely glowing!
Settings for the image on the left are: ISO 200, f/3.2, shutter speed 1/2500
Settings for the right are: (I used the Nikon 85mm 1.8) ISO 200, f/4.0, shutter speed 1/1600 and I used a white reflector.
